abstract = "The knowledge of the water balance is crucial in agricultural
production, as it allows to determine the hydrological regime of a
site and monitor the change in water storage in the soil. One of
the most important factors in the water balance is rainfall and
this variable has a very wide variation timeline. Another factor
accentuates this problem is the lack of adequate rainfall network.
An alternative to solve these problems is the use of remote
sensing data. The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission satellite
has TRMM instruments for rainfall estimates, but studies are
needed to validate these data are. Given the circumstances this
study sought to examine the quality of data from TRMM satellite,
apply them in water balance to determine their behavior in
relation to the acquired data on rainfall station in the cities of
Aragar{\c{c}}as, Catalan and Formosa in the state of Goi{\'a}s
from January to December 2013 data from the rainfall station along
with the satellite data TRMM 3B42 products V_7 and real time
statistical calculations were submitted by the linear correlation
coefficient, average error, root mean square error and index of
agreement and calculating the climatic water balance proposed by
Thornthwaite and Mather method was used. After statistical
analysis of the data we can see that the products of the TRMM
satellite provided a satisfactory estimate in the application of
water balance in the city studied the state of Goi{\'a}s.",
